Duke Steps to Recovery Program

The Duke Steps to Recovery Program was so important to Emily. She ended up walking over 1500 laps during her journey. While on the unit, she knew she wanted to sponsor the program for kids just like her to help them become a healthier version

“I am so thankful for your sponsorship of our program. Emstrong is really making a difference in our friend’s lives as I see them pushing past what they thought they could do. And for some of the younger friends, we have seen them get out of bed when they didn’t really want to so that they could earn more feet. I am truly touched everyday when I look into the folder to see how many people have done laps!”

Meet one of our walkers! This is a 15 year old boy that didn’t want to get up and walk but he really wanted a Fit Bit. He managed to earn it the day before he was discharged and was so proud! We are proud of him too!

Meet Audrey

This is Audrey and she was REALLY motivated to earn the fitbit! She even did lots of laps on discharge day to make sure she earned it before she left!
